EndNote 6’s new features include organizing images with text, and built-in journal submission templates for Microsoft Word X for Mac. It’s the first bibliographic software program to manage more than just text, ISI ResearchSoft claims. Any type of generic image (such as BMP, TIFF, JPEG) or application file (such as Excel, PowerPoint) can now be managed along with text references. EndNote 6 also comes equipped with Word templates that guide users through the exacting manuscript requirements of publishers.
Version 6.0’s traveling libraries let you import references directly from colleagues’ papers to their personal EndNote libraries. It has over 1,400 content files to collect online data and publish manuscripts.
EndNote 6 is designed for Mac OS X and Windows and has a list price of US$329.95. Students in North America can purchase EndNote 6 for $109.95. Special upgrade prices are available to owners of previous versions. A list of international distributors is available online.
