Mac game publisher Aspyr Media has announced plans to publish Ghost Recon and its Desert Siege expansion pack to the Macintosh. It’s a squad-based 3D military combat game developed by the same crew behind Rainbow Six and Rogue Spear.

In Ghost Recon, you command a team of U.S. Army Green Berets through a series of missions like demolition, search and rescue, and firefights. The game features squad-based tactical combat, 15 different single player maps, and six dedicated multiplayer maps.

Ghost Recon sports a storyline in which Russia has fallen to leaders driven to rebuild the Iron Curtain. In Desert Siege, the combat movies to the African Continent, where Ethiopia has invaded Eritrea.
Developed by Red Storm Entertainment, Ghost Recon is published on the PC by Ubi Soft Entertainment. i5works is heading up the Macintosh conversion of the game, according to Aspyr.
System requirements call for a G3/450 or faster, 128MB RAM, 1GB available hard disk space, and an ATI RAGE 128 with 16MB of VRAM. It will run on Mac OS 9 and X.
