Mac author, columnist, and speaker David Pogue was the surprise keynote speaker at the fifth User Group University, held Monday, July 16, before the start of the Macworld Conference & Expo in New York City.

Pogue talked of his history as a MUG (Mac User Group) member and officer. Those positions led him from newsletter articles to celebrity tutor and a career as a Mac author and current technology columnist for The New York Times . He also performed several magic tricks and several of his trademark parody songs.
