Ambrosia Software, Inc. has released Pop-Pop, a game that features arcade action with a networkable combat mode. Described as a combination of Arkanoid and Street Fighter, the game is available for download now.
A brickbashing game in which you use characters called “Pops” each with special powers, Pop-Pop sports over 100 puzzle levels that you can use to play solo. You can also battle against the computer in a combat mode, and when you feel ready, throw down the gauntlet against other gamers in online play.

What’s more, terrific animations that look straight out of the Cartoon Network pop along to a butt-wiggling electronic soundtrack. It’s really something that needs to be seen and heard in action to be appreciated.
Pop-Pop uses a built-in game tracker to find other opponents online, and it also supports GameRanger. The game supports Mac OS 8.1 and later and is fully OS X native, according to Ambrosia.
Look for Ambrosia at Macworld Conference & Expo in booth 1714. You can pick up a copy of Pop-Pop on CD.
