3D animation software developer Kaydara Inc. has announced the release of its FBX component for QuickTime 6. The new component gives users the ability to view and manipulate 3D content in Kaydara’s FBX format using QuickTime Player.

FBX for QuickTime works with Mac and PC, and allows users to interact with 3D data from any major 3D product. FBX is a widely used format utilized by 3D modeling packages, 3D scanning technologies, 3D content providers, motion capture systems, and camera tracking systems.
The preview version of the FBX component is available for download from Kaydara’s Web site. The company said it would ship a full release of the component this fall.
