Alias|Wavefront used this week’s Macworld Conference & Expo to make its debut of Maya Complete 4.5, its 3D animation software. The new release synchronizes Maya for Mac OS X with Maya on the other hardware platforms it’s supported on.

The new version utilizes new modeling tools, integrated 3D Paint, multi-processor support for rendering, and numerous UI and workflow enhancements.
Alias|Wavefront president Doug Walker called Maya 4.5 proof of his company’s continued commitment to Mac users. He also said that sales of the software on the Mac platform have exceeded their expectations.
Expected to ship by the end of September, Maya 4.5 costs US$1,999.
