Eleven plug-ins from Troi Automatisering, a developer of cross platform FileMaker Pro plug-ins, have been updated to run with the new FileMaker Pro 6 running under Mac OS, Mac OS X and Windows.
Troi Plug-ins extend the functionality of FileMaker Pro 6, the database software, from FileMaker Inc.. According to MacTech magazine , the plug-ins are: Troi Activator, which can trigger scripts on a different computer, even over the Internet; Troi Clipsave, which can save and restore the clipboard; Troi Coding, which assists in securing FileMaker data by encryption and enabling safe export and import for example via -email; Troi Dialog, which helps you show customizable dialogs; Troi File, a “power tool” for getting access to files and folders outside the FM database; Troi Grabber, which adds video image grabbing functions; Troi Graphic, which adds color container creation, screen shot capture, and making of thumbnails; Troi Number Plug-in, which makes it possible to show a running balance of a value in any portal, especially sorted portals; Troi Ranges, which uses a starting date and an ending date to generate a range of values between those two dates; Troi Serial, which offers access to one or more of a computer’s serial ports; and Troi Text, which adds text functions.
Fully functional demo versions of each Troi Plug-in are available for download at Troi’s Web site. All work with FileMaker Pro 5 and later. Each plug-in is available for Mac OS 9.0.4 or later, including Mac OS X (10.1 or later). Licenses start at US$10 per user.
