The new PowerBook G4 is a laptop “with desktop shoulders” that combines sleekness and power in a single package, according to a Boston Globe critique.
Reviewer John Mello praises the PowerBook’s “gorgeous display,” support for a variety of auxiliary displays and “excellent” performance. Although at 5.4 pounds, it’s hefty, the PowerBook is still lighter than PC laptops that are billed as desktop replacements.
“For those with the $2,200 to $3,000 to pay for it, the PowerBook G4, with its eye-popping display, processing power and digital monitor support, is a laptop with shoulders broad enough to bear the burden of a desktop machine,” Mello concludes.
