Just five years ago IDG World Expo, the management company for Macworld Conference & Expo, moved Macworld from its longtime home in Boston to the Javits center in New York City.
According to an article in the New York Post today, IDG World Expo may move the popular Mac show back to Boston.
According to the article the conference management are fed up with rising prices at the Javits and are considering an offer from the Boston group that expect to open a new convention center in 2004.
“MacWorld is the largest tech event in New York City,” said Charlie Greco, CEO of show management for IDG World Expo.
With falling attendance and rising costs at the Javits, IDG World Expo is looking for a few years of free rent in Boston, as well as guaranteed hotel rooms.
Shawn King, host of Your Mac Life, we have additional information on tonight’s radio broadcast about a possible move to Boston.
