At this week’s Macworld Conference & Expo in San Francisco, Contour A/V Solutions Inc., a company that designs and develops multimedia editing devices, will be touting the applications that their new SpaceShuttle A/V audio and video controller supports.
The SpaceShuttle A/V supports Adobe Acrobat Reader, Premiere, Apple’s Address Book, Apple’s DVD Player, Final Cut Pro 3, iMovie, iTunes, QuickTime Player, TextEdit, AppleWorks 6, the Chimera Web browser, Microsoft Entourage, Excel, Word, Internet Explorer, Mozilla, and the VideoLAN client. Modeled after the ShuttlePRO, the SpaceShuttle A/V, which has an estimated street price of US$49.99, was developed to bring the power and productivity of the ShuttlePRO to a broader audience, according to Rick Muldoon, president and CEO of CAVS.
It provides analog editing-style control to digital video and audio editing applications. Simple operating software runs in the background and makes the SpaceShuttle A/V available for use within any program, according to Muldoon.
The action jog knob rotates 360. With it, you can edit timelines with frame-by-frame precision, or edit your music with beat-by-beat accuracy, according to Contour. The SpaceShuttle’s spring-loaded shuttle ring provides seven variable speeds both forward and reverse for controlling your timelines, camcorder, decks and VTR’s. It sports five programmable buttons and the ability to automate keyboard shortcuts and commands for any software You can also configure or customize the SpaceShuttle A/V for any application, though it’s pre-programmed for most software titles.
Currently, the SpaceShuttle A/V supports Mac OS X. Support for Mac OS 8.6-9.2.2 is still under development.
