The new ABSplus scheduling features lets you backup sets of specific file folders at specific times, or schedule complete unattended backups using the ABSplus’ configuration options. The new One Button Restore feature provides a “redirect restore” function to simplify the process of restoring a copy of their backed-up data to an alternate location. The redirect restore option in the One Button Restore interface allows for remote backups on a shared resource on the network or, with proper connectivity and permissions, over a network to a remote server.
ABSplus software automatically launches a backup when the device is plugged in. It provides a native file format backup allowing the user to boot straight into an exact copy of the system on Mac OS X in a single keystroke. Mac OS X machines with multiple users can be automatically backed up, including folder/file ownership and permissions.
The pocket-sized ABSplus, which comes in USB and FireWire versions, is available in capacities of 20GB, 30GB, 40GB and 60GB with prices starting at US$299. The ABSplus for Desktops is currently available in capacities of 40GB, 80GB, 120GB, and 160GB at a starting price of $299. ABSplus and ABSplus for Desktops are available from Apple resellers, corporate resellers, and directly from CMS.
