ContentBarrier X 10.0 — targeted to parents, employers, or others who want to control content delivered to computers running Mac OS X — boasts customizable categories, an anti-predator function blocks that blocks language typically used by child predators in online chat rooms and over instant messaging applications, multiple user support, Internet access control, automatic log-e-mail notification, and a Newsgroup/Email/Download Control.
Version 10.0 has been upgraded with a more complete list of keywords, simplifying e-mail, Web page, and chat room content filtering, according to Jane Byrd Del Re, sales director for Intego. You can also define your own lists to extend the content that’s restricted via the application.
What’s more, ContentBarrier X 10.0 includes the latest version of Intego’s NetUpdate automatic software update engine. You can program updates for specific days and times, and NetUpdate will automatically check the Intego server for updates for all Intego programs installed on your computer.
ContentBarrier X 10.0 supports Mac OS X 10.1.1 or later and is available immediately from Intego. Pricing for a single-user license is US$59.95, and includes both Mac OS X and OS 9 versions of the application.
