With FibreShare, multiple users can share high speed storage systems without using conventional networking. FibreShare is aimed specifically at digital audio/video, graphics and animation markets and other applications where users need to collaborate using extremely large files.
FibreShare for OS X supports FireWire and Fibre Channel drive interfaces. Users see the storage systems as locally attached volumes on their computers.
Charismac anticipates shipping FibreShare for OS X at the end of the month, and will announce a price closer to the ship date. If you’re currently using FibreShare, you’ll be able to upgrade for a reduced price.
