CytoLight, a Swedish company that makes tools for scientists, has released CoolLocalizer for Mac OS X. It’s a lightweight image analysis software for confocal microscopy and is targeted to scientists in academia as well as in industry, according to Mats Famer, CEO of CytoLight. He said that CytoLight’s features include:
“The two fastest growing segments in confocal microscopy are co-localization analysis and image processing for presentations and documentation,” Famer said. “By focusing on those and a few other techniques the pricing has been kept low.”
The cost of CoolLocalizer is US$299 for academic users — there are other licenses (standard and multiple) available as well. Details can be found at the product Web site.
CoolLocalizer requires a dongle to run; it’s shipped after you pay for a CoolLocalizer license.
