The new version corrects compatibility issues with QuickTime 6.0.2 and 6.1, according to the developers. It also peacefully coexists with Apple’s built-in Jaguar driver.
If you’re looking for more than this Webcam driver can offer, IOXperts noted that it’s working a new “industrial strength” driver that supports advanced features built into high-end digital cameras, like those used in factories and research labs.
A trial version of the FireWire Webcam driver is available for download, but registration costs $19.95. System requirements for the FireWire Webcam driver call for Mac OS X 10.1.5 or later with a FireWire port and a supported FireWire-based Webcam (a list of supported devices has been posted to the Web site).
