It’s hard to say if you’re really going to need them, but just in case, JR Hill & Co. have come up with a new line of screen protectors aimed at Apple’s new 12- and 17-inch PowerBook G4 models.

Many PowerBook owners have noted over the years that the LCD screens of their systems can come into direct contact with the keyboard of their PowerBook when the device is in its closed position. Oils from your fingers will transfer to the screen and over a long enough period can physically damage the protective transparent layer covering the LCD panel. JR Hill & Co.’s screen protectors are one solution — they’re rectangular-cut material that fit sandwiched between the keyboard and screen to prevent such marks from appearing.
JR Hill & Co.’s versions come in full grain leather or vinyl, and are available for as little as US$6.99 depending on size and composition. The new screen protectors join models already available for the 15-inch PowerBook G4, PowerBook G3, and 12- and 14-inch iBook.
