Power On Software — the company behind such products as Now Up-to-Date & Contact (NUDC) — has a new operating name (Now Software), a new chief operating officer (Andrew Marks), and a new plan.

Power On purchased NUDC in 1999 and has constantly upgrade the product, including introducing new versions for Mac OS X and Windows. The product was so successful that the company began re-branding its business productivity products under the Now Software name last November. That evolution continues this year, according to CEO John Wallace.
Later this year Now Software will begin unveiling a series of productivity applications based on, and compatible with, Now Contact and Now Up-to-Date. The Windows version of NUDC is due in the second quarter of the year. And version 5.0 of Now Up-to-Date & Contact will be released next year, with a simultaneous release for both platforms.
“Macintosh owners form the core user base for Now Up-to-Date & Contact,” Marks, the new COO, is the former president and 13-year veteran of Invata International, a technology consulting/software development company. “We are committed to the Macintosh platform for the long haul, and that’s why we’re so excited about NUDC 5.0. This upgrade will be a revolutionary, not evolutionary, development.”
