Ricoh Corp. has introduced the US$15,650 Ricoh Priport JP8500 Digital Duplicator, a high speed digital printing solution targeted for use by print-for-pay concerns, central reprographics departments, and facility management companies. It’s Mac and Windows compatible.

Features include Embedded PostScript 3 connectivity and a new ink delivery system that’s designed to enhance image quality by providing greater ink control, economic printing, and quality output that has “ultra-fast” dry time with no ink set-off. The JP8500 offers 600 dpi resolution in both scanning and printing processes, and its Digital Duplicator Custom Color Program provides duplicator ink in any PMS color chosen.
It can handle print speeds of 120 pages per minute. You can scan and store up to eight originals for instant retrieval and printing; scanned images are auto-rotated to match the direction of paper in the feed trays.
The printing solution sports an automatic document feeder, a job separator that mechanically separates multiple print jobs by offsetting the top sheet of each preceding job, energy saver What’s more, the controller’s built-in printer management solution, SmartNetMonitor, provides real-time access to such information as paper settings, misfeed alerts, job history, security features and workflow management with other Ricoh Aficio digital products.
