ARTIS Software has released ARTIS Screen Tools 2.0, a new version of their collection of utilities aimed at Mac OS X users who produce and design visual content for on-screen use — Web site developers, graphic designers and photographers, for example.

ARTIS Screen Tools include the Screen Ruler, a desktop utility that displays translucent rulers in various measurements including pixels, inches and centimeters; Small Screen, which gives users a visual representation of what portion of the image will be viewable at reduced screen resolutions; Screen Loupe, which shows a magnified view of whatever’s underneath the cursor; and new to version 2.0, Screen Guides, which displays visual guidelines on your desktop — useful for aligning objects in software applications that don’t include guides.
In addition to Screen Guides, ARTIS Screen Tools 2.0 includes other updates as well. Small Screen has been especially updated, with the ability to display Web browser content sizes to help designers create Web page content for the most popular browsers.
Distributed as shareware, ARTIS Screen Tools costs US$9.95 to register. You can download demo versions from the Web site before you decide to buy them.
