IOGEAR Inc. has released a new USB Print Server that they claim will allow business and home users to print images and documents from anywhere.
The palm-sized (2.25 by 2 inches and weighing two ounce) print server allows everybody on a network to share a USB printer capable of printing standard or tabloid-sized documents, according to Miranda Su, IOGEAR’s vice president of sales and marketing. It integrates Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) to allow users to print from any computer over a LAN/WAN (Local Area Network/Wide Area Network) or the Internet by specifying the device’s URL. The unit also supports multiple protocols and operating systems, including Macs.
The USB Print Server has a built-in Web management feature enabling users to configure, monitor and reset the printer via a Web browser. It complies with USB 1.1 specifications, and provides users with an auto-sensing 10/100Base-T port.
