Benoit Widemann has released AliasMenu 3.0 for Mac OS X, a new version of the utility that enables you to add menus to the menu bar. It works by correlating menus to folders and their contents.

Rewritten from the ground up for Mac OS X, AliasMenu 3.0 is Jaguar compatible, and works downward to Mac OS X 10.1 as well. AliasMenu menus can be mixed with Apple’s system menus; Function keys are now supported for keyboard shortcuts; horizontal space between menus is preference-controlled; icons in menu items can be set in any size up to 128 pixels; hierarchical menus are supported; and much more.
AliasMenu costs US$25 to register, and it is distributed as shareware. Upgrades from version 2 cost $15, and recent purchasers can use AliasMenu 3 for free. More details and download links are available from the Web site.
