Other World Computing (OWC) has cut prices — from US$20 to$50 — on all of theirs Mercury Elite Pro external FireWire storage solutions. New pricing for the Mercury Elite Pro FireWire models — compatible with Mac OS X and Mac OS 8.6 and up — are as follows:

200GB 7200RPM model with 8MB cache: $419.99;

180GB 7200RPM model with 8MB cache: $349.99;

120GB 7200RPM model with 8MB cache: $279.99;

120GB 7200RPM model with 2MB cache: $259.99;

80GB 7200RPM model with 2MB cache: $199.99;

60GB 7200RPM model with 2MB cache: $179.99;

40GB 7200RPM model with 2MB cache: $159.99.

Each Mercury Elite Pro drive measures 1.5 inches x 9.0 inches x 5.5 inches and weighs less than three pounds. They ship with Intech HD SpeedTools, a FireWire cable, external power adaptor and a two-year warranty.
