iPass sports access points in about 150 countries through both wired broadband and wireless hotspots, as well as through modem dialup connections. The software integrates with Virtual Private Networking (VPN) software, personal firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
The client software itself displays an updated list of local access points that corresponds to the user’s location, and provides features like bookmarking of regularly used access points, smart dialing and redialing, and more. It can be configured to support specific corporate RAS numbers, idle timeout and maximum connect time, and more.
iPassConnect was already available for Mac OS 8.6 – 9.2. This latest release also adds support for Jaguar.
