If you have a PowerBook or iBook that needs to be fixed north of the U.S. border, Mac parts and repair shop MacResQ has announced a new Canadian repair service as part of their PowerBookResQ repair program.

PowerBookResQ enables iBook and PowerBook users to send their equipment out safely and quickly to be repaired. After you contact them at 866-MAC-REPAIR, MacResQ arranges to have a “PowerBox” delivered — it’s a shipping box especially designed to handle your laptop. An express courier then takes delivery of the PowerBook or iBook and sends it off to MacResQ to be fixed. MacResQ then diagnoses the problem, contacts you with a repair estimate, and fixes it — usually within 24 hours of receipt.
Canadian users who want to try the PowerBookResQ Canada service pay CDN$179 (accepted in either U.S. or Canadian funds). The price includes the shipping, the initial diagnosis and the shipping materials. If you’re in the US and you’d like to do this, it’ll cost you US$99.
PowerBookResQ is also available to resellers and repair centers at discounted rates.
