WiebeTech president James Wiebe said that prices have been cut up to US$120 on certain models of the UltraGB model — the company’s bus-powered, fanless FireWire hard drive encased in an aluminum enclosure. What’s more, WiebeTech has added 80GB and 120GB, 7200RPM models to the UltraGB line.
The DesktopGB model sports both FireWire and USB 2.0 support — the DesktopGB+ features a fanless chassis for quiet operation, along with an aluminum construction. The Super DesktopGB and UltraGB are both bus-powered systems.
WiebeTech includes a cable or cables, AC adapter and a vertical stand. All drives also feature Mac Drive 5 from MediaFour, which enables a Mac-formatted drive to be mounted on Windows PCs.
