Apple India is working to bring about a “radical change” in its channel sales, according to a CIOL article.
Apple sells through Ingram Micro and Neoteric apart from selling directly in India, but is planning a new effort to target users in small office-home office, education, and home environments, as well as Unix users. To accomplish this, Apple plans to “entrust specialist resellers and sales support partners.”
Apple’s recent price cuts and new product introductions will be extended to India in an effort to register double digit growth this year. Last September the company identified India and Malaysia as its fastest growing markets in the Asia Pacific region.
“Apple products are quite affordable,” said Deepanshu Sharma, marketing manager of Apple Computer International. “It is designed and made to cater to the power and performance hungry users. The applications are packaged and made user friendly to the extent that complicated computing is child’s play in a Mac.”
