Minolta Corp. has released the DiMAGE S414, a new 4.1 megapixel digital camera. The camera features a 4x optical zoom lens and a design based on the DiMAGE S404 and S304 models.

The DiMAGE S414 sports a USB interface to transfer files to a Mac or PC, and stores files using CompactFlash media. It has a built-in flash and uses a Minolta GT lens with a zoom range from 7.15mm to 28.6mm.
The camera also features 12-bit analog to digital conversion, and uses a 32-bit RISC CPU and expanded SDRAM buffer memory for improved performance. The DiMAGE S414 can capture 1.3 frames per second with up to 7 frames.
Other capabilities include autofocus, auto exposure, automatic white balance, and an optical zoom viewfinder, aluminum construction, and Digital Subject Program Selection, which enables users to view histograms of recorded images, exposure compensation and bracketing, custom white balance and digital effects control.
The camera ships with 4 AA alkaline batteries (Ni-MH rechargables are recommended), neck strap, lens cap, AV cable, USB cable, CompactFlash card, and software. No pricing for the new camera was announced.
