FirewireDirect.com is consolidating its CD-RW drives into 48x and 52x speed systems, available in either FireWire-only or FireWire/USB 2.0 combo systems. And depending on your preference, FirewireDirect.com offers Mac users either Charismac Discribe or Roxio Toast (Windows users get their choice between Roxio Easy CD Creator or VOB Instant CD/DVD).
You can also purchase two software apps if you prefer, and you can also get Roxio’s Toast 5 Titanium — the full version — at a cost well below retail, according to the company. Two programs cost you US$29.95, and Toast 5 Titanium costs $59.95.
The drives themselves feature Oxford 911 FireWire bridge boards, “Burn Proof” CD writing, and other capabilities. The drives start at US$149.95 for a 52x FireWire external CD-RW.
