Storage product maker MicroNet Technology has released new models of its Advantage series external hard drives.

The Advantage series features both FireWire and USB 2.0 interfaces, and are compatible with Macs and Windows PCs. The new models feature capacities including 160, 180, 200 and 250GB. All drive mechanisms operate at 7200RPM — access time averages 8.5ms.
The Advantage drives use an Oxford Semiconductor Oxford 911 FireWire bridge chip to connect the hard drive mechanism to your Mac, the standard that many drive makers use.
MicroNet’s Advantage drives include USB and FireWire cables, power cord, software and manuals. They are compatible with Mac OS 8.6 or later. Prices on the new drives were not available, but MicroNet said the higher capacity Advantage drives could be purchased through its network of VARs, resellers, and mail-order catalog partners.
