has released the MiniBank MT, a new portable hard drive case.
With an external aluminum 2.5-inch hard drive case, it offers both FireWire and USB 2.0 connectivity. The MiniBank MT-II boasts a 1.8mm thick aluminum case with a 5mm front plate milled into a solid piece of aluminum, according to Eric Ferraz, Miglia’s product marketing director. Installing a hard drive takes just a few minutes, and the user can choose the brand, size, and speed of the drive, he added.
Any drive installed in the MiniBank is bootable on Macs that support FireWire booting. An external power supply isn’t necessary since the drives draw power from FireWire port. The US$119 MiniBank MT-II supports all recent 2.5-inch hard drive with a height of up to 12.5mm. Pricing is available from the company’s Web site.
