Parker Software Development Inc. — the company behind such Mac products as ArcherPro, NewsHunter, NewsHunter Classic, and Archer — has released ArcherPro 3.1.0, an update to the multimedia viewer for Mac OS X that lets you combine still images, audio and video files into the same slideshow.
ArcherPro lets you view all sorts of still images, including Illustrator, Photoshop and TARGA files. Select a folder of images and ArcherPro will import them. The utility’s slide shows can contain video files as well as still images and audio files. When ArcherPro encounters a video file, it will automatically load the movie and display the first frame. If you have the “Play Movies” option turned on, ArcherPro will automatically begin playing the movie once it has been loaded.
Version 3.1.0 adds a Background Menu, which lets you change the background color for each image individually; each command has a keyboard equivalent. The new commands on the Background Menu let you change the background color using the standard Color Picker window; adjust the background color up or down in small increments; reset the background color to the default; reset the background color for all images to the default; and open the Preferences window where you can set the Default Background Color. Also, in ArcherPro 3.1.0 is a new preference that lets you change the Default Background Color. All images that you have not specifically set a color for will use the Default Background Color.
3.1.0 is a free update for all registered users. For others, registration is US$29.95. A demo version is available for download.
