Fuji Photo Film U.S.A. Inc. has introduced the Fujifilm FinePix F700, a 6.2 megapixel consumer digital camera, and the the FinePix F410, which has 3.1 million effective pixels.
The FinePix F700 will be available this spring at a suggested list price of US$599.95. The FinePix is compatible with Mac OS X and Mac OS 8.6-9.2.2.
The camera sports Fuji’s proprietary new Super CCD SR (Super Dynamic Range) technology and can capture 2,832 x 2,128 (6.03 million) recorded pixels. The SR sensor offers 3.1 million large pixels with high sensitivity to light, and 3.1 million smaller pixels with low sensitivity to light, resulting in a range of four times that of previous Super CCDs, according to Eric Thorng, Fuji’s senior marketing manager of Consumer Digital Imaging Products.
The FinePix F700’s boasts a metal body, 1.8-inch LCD screen, on-demand continuous auto-focus, three-color modes, manual functions, movie recording capabilities, and a cradle for downloading and recharging. It has 6.6x zoom capabilities, with a 3x optical zoom, and 2.2x digital zoom. The camera offers P/A/S/M exposure modes and manual settings and auto sensitivity equivalent to ISO 160-400 when the LCD is on and the flash is off. The manual equivalency is ISO 200/400/800, and at 1600, when the resolution is fixed at 1 megapixel.
The FinePix F700 captures full resolution VGA digital video at 30 frames/second with sound, for non-stop unbuffered recording directly onto storage media. Movies can be replayed on NTSC or PAL outputs. The camera comes bundled with an NP-40 battery, USB/AV cable, hand strap, 16MB xD-Picture Card, AC Power Adapter/Battery Charger, Picture Cradle, FinePixViewer 4.0, and ImageMixer VCD for FinePix 1.0 software.
The FinePix, Fuji’s first digital camera to carry its fourth-generation Super CCD HR (High Resolution), can produce images with 2,816 x 2,120 (6.0 million) recorded pixels, which means that users can print pictures up to 11 x 14 inches in size.
The $499.99 camera, due in April, captures AVI digital video with sound for short clips; it can record 98-second 320 x 240 pixel movies with a 16MB xD-Picture Card, and 5.6 minutes for 160 x 120 pixel movies. The FinePix F410 packs a 3x optical and 4.4x digital zoom in its 5.8-ounce metal body. The camera offers PC-Cam/Video conferencing capabilities, a multi-language menu, and comes with ImageMixer VCD for FinePix 1.0 software so users can create CD albums and video CDs by burning images onto CD-Rs.
The FinePix F410 comes bundled with an NP-60 lithium-ion battery, USB cable, shoulder strap, 16MB xD-Picture Card, AC Power Adapter/Battery Charger, FinePixViewer v4.0, ImageMixer VCD for FinePix 1.0 software. An optional cradle for power recharging and file transferring is available. Like the FinePix F700, the FinePix F410 is compatible with Mac OS X and Mac OS 8.6-9.2.2.
