Mariner Software has announced the availability of Mariner Write 3.1 Public Beta, a preview version of the company’s flagship word processing application.
Mariner Write now has integrated “read” functionality of Microsoft Word files. Plus, Mac OS X Services support and contextual menu spelling suggestions have also been added.
Parsing a “multitude” of data streams within a Word document, Mariner Write processes available data into memory rather than reading from slower disk access, according to Logan Ryan of Mariner Software. This results in a faster translation processing speed when reading Word-formatted documents, he added.
Mariner Write 3.1 Public Beta is available for download now. It runs on Mac OS X and Mac OS 9.x.
