ConnectUPS cards can be monitored and administered through standard Web browsers, PDAs, cell phones or Telnet sessions, as they support Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) and Powerware’s MultiView software. Admins and network managers with access to the ConnectUPS cards can initiate the shutdown and reboot of a UPS when necessary. They’re compatible with a wide range of UPS’s, according to the manufacturer, and scalable and firmware-upgradable.
What’s more, the ConnectUPS-X features three additional built-in 10/100baseT Ethernet connections, making it possible to use a Power Mac equipped with one of the cards as a network hub. ConnectUPS cards come with NetWatch client software, which is Mac OS X-compatible.
ConnectUPS cards have a suggested list price of US$299.
