Portraits & Prints, the personal photo studio for Mac OS X from Econ Technologies, has been updated to version 1.3, adding several new features. The features include improved template selection and management, increased performance, display of EXIF data, renaming of photos in catalogs, exporting of cropped images and the ability to link directly to Web Photos.
Portraits & Prints saves links to images in a Catalog so the original image is never touched. Version 1.3 extends this ability to URLs referencing photos or graphics. Now you can modify, print and save Internet images from a catalog without downloading them onto your Mac. What’s more, all enhancements can be exported to replace originals or saved as a new image file. Enhancements include Contrast, Saturation, Brightness, Sharpness, Rotation, Red-eye Reduction and advanced Cropping.
The new Rename command lets you change the filename of any photo directly from a Catalog, while the Photo Information Panel gives you such details as EXIF data. Broken links can be fixed with the new “Locate” command. With Portraits & Prints’ companion application, Template Maker, you can build custom layout templates for portraits and prints. A collection of layout templates is available free at Econ’s Web site.
Purchase Portraits & Prints 1.3 is a free update for registered users. For others, the cost is US$20. Template Maker is $10; free demo versions are also available.
