MacMaid has been designed for users who get clutter on their Finder desktop: Downloaded files and other detritus that you might want to put away eventually but haven’t found a home for yet. With MacMaid, you add new file extensions to the cleaning list and then tell the software if you want those files removed or moved to specific folders. MacMaid does the rest.
The software sports a “miniature” view, a log window, and a safeguard to prevent you from replacing files you want to save.
Distributed as shareware, MacMaid is available for download as a free trial. Registering the software costs US$10.
