The 250GB model is the latest high-capacity model in the DesktopGB+ line. WiebeTech makes the line in other capacities, including a zero-configuration system you can install your own hard disk mechanism.
The DesktopGB+ uses Oxford Semiconductor’s OXFW911 bridge chipset, and is ATA-6 compatible, so it can handle capacities beyond 250GB. It features dual FireWire ports and uses a universal AC adapter that works in the US and foreign countries. The drive also includes a copy of Mac Drive 5 software, which enables the Mac-formatted drive to work with a PC as well.
The new 250GB DesktopGB+ model is available for purchase now, and costs US$599.95.
