Macworld magazine won two awards Friday at the annual Maggie Awards, in which the Western Publications Association honors the best magazines in the western U.S.
The magazine won for the second straight year in the category of best consumer computer magazine, competing against nominees PC Computing , PC World , and others.
The magazine also won the award for the best editorial or essay for the October 1999 installment of David Pogue’s monthly Desktop Critic column, ” Steven Saves the Mac.” The column humorously recounted Steve Jobs’ return to Apple in the style of Ernest Thayer’s “Casey at the Bat.”
