According to Palm’s Web site, changes to Apple’s USB system software in Mac OS 9.0.2 and 9.0.4 “affected the operation of the Palm HotSync Manager software.”
Previously, Palm OS licensee Handspring had released an update that fixed the problem.
A test of the new software (a 1.8 MB download) at Macworld’s offices showed the updated file did indeed restore HotSync functionality to Macs previously afflicted with the HotSync incompatibility.
