With Carmen Sandiego’s ThinkQuick Challenge, the Learning Company provides a great way for students ages 8 to 12 to hone in on basic geography, history, science, and math. Single players or teams of up to four battle twenty-first-century criminals who are stealing the world’s knowledge. As agents for the ACME Academy, players race to answer questions correctly and quickly to save the knowledge from the cyber thieves.
To start the game, there is a practice mode in which players become familiar with Carmen Sandiego’s ThinkQuick Challenge before actually recording a score. During the game, there are three levels of missions. Players advance to more difficult questions as they fight crime.
Carmen Sandiego’s ThinkQuick Challenge looks like a modern television cartoon. Players choose their own Avatar to represent them onscreen. The program’s sound is impressive and engaging with a techno-dance soundtrack and blockbuster-movie sound effects.
