AquaMinds has updated NoteTaker 2003 — a Mac OS X product for managing personal notes, Web site URLS, lists, outlines, projects and information of any type that can be stored on a computer — to version 1.1.3, which beefs up its Web NoteBook features. Web NoteBook lets you take information such as outlines, notes, multimedia files (QuickTime movies, sounds, photos, animations and music), links, drawings, PDF images and NoteTaker voice memos and transform them into a Web site for browsing.
NoteTaker’s interface incorporates a “spiral notebook with tab sections” metaphor. It can be used to take notes, manage project plans, create screen slide presentations, drag or clip information from other applications (or use NoteTaker Services), index and search notebooks, publish and share information, add voice memos and more.
With version 1.1.3, Web Notebook pages are now individually addressable via an URL search parameter. Web NoteBooks now supports Browser Back and Forward buttons, optional cover pages, background images, and better compatibility with Apple’s Safari Web browser. Color can now be dragged onto the cover page title text, as well as the cover itself. Check Spelling now works across entry and page boundaries, and Find Panel scoping is now applied to Find and well as Replace.
NoteTaker costs US$69.96 and runs on Mac OS X 10.1.5 and higher; a demo is available at the AquaMinds Web site. Version 1.1.3 is free to registered users. AquaMinds also offers academic and volume pricing.
