The secret to a good backgammon game is to make it simple. David’s Backgammon does that, stripping the game down to its classic elements of board, pips and dice, but if you’ve gotten a taste of what an addictive game backgammon can be, you’ll be grateful for the program’s extra features.
The board is numbered so it’s easy to know where you’ll land, and it’s easy to see what direction you’re going in. Also, it has a marker to aid you in identifying possible moves. You can also set up any game position and ask the computer for the best move.
David’s Backgammon is smart. If there’s no possible move for you, it will let you know and not require you to throw the dice. If you’ve played on Yahoo, you know how annoying it is to have to throw the dice when you can’t move off the bridge.
Once you’ve mastered the five skill levels, you can take all the helpers out of your game and go head to head with the computer in the Club Champ level.
