PNY Technologies has expanded its line of digital media solutions with several product announcements at this week’s PMA (Photo Marketing Association) Show in Las Vegas.
The company’s new US$29.99 xD-Picture Card reader provides a way to transfer pictures between an xD-Picture Card and your Mac via USB connectivity. xD-Picture Card is the flash memory card format recently developed by Fujifilm and Olympus. PNY’s xD-Picture Card readers also support SmartMedia cards and are compatible with Mac OS X and Mac OS 8.6-9.x.
Also new is PNY Technologies’ Attache, a USB 2.0 flash drive series that supports 128MB and 256MB storage capacities and will be available for purchase during the second quarter of the year at the suggested retail prices of $89.99 and $139.99 respectively. The company has also announced a new USB 2.0 single slot reader series that supports such flash memory card formats as xD-Picture Card, CompactFlash, SecureDigital, MultiMedia, Memory Stick, and SmartMedia.
The company’s upcoming Secure Digital (SD)-CompactFlash (CF) Adapter combines an SD card and a CF Type 1 slot drive, offering the ability to capture and transfer images at sustained write speeds of up to 10MB per second. The adapter will be available for purchase during the second quarter of the year; pricing hasn’t yet been announced.
