DiamondSoft Inc. has released Font Reserve Server 1.6. The software provides workgroups with font management abilities.

The new version offers client software for Mac OS X, and it’s still compatible with Mac OS 9 and Classic, according to DiamondSoft. The native Mac OS X version manages fonts in the different locations they can be maintained within Mac OS X. It also adds system-wide automatic font activation, enabling administrators to activate fonts on client systems.
What’s more, the new version can activate fonts simultaneously in Mac OS X and Classic, so if your production workflow is dependent on using Classic applications, you can maintain the same fonts in either environment. Fonts can also be activated automatically as documents are opened; user permissions can be set to specify how each user’s system fonts are handled, and much more.
DiamondSoft is offering Font Reserve Server 1.6 as a free upgrade to any customers who purchased it since Macworld New York in July of 2002.
