It may sound like a contradiction in terms, but United Developers subsidiary MacPlay — which up until now has focused solely on Mac games — is moving into the productivity market with its North American release of Pressit, a CD labeling kit made by RMT Ltd.

Pressit is a complete kit for users who want to print their own CD labels. The kit includes exPressit, a label design software application that requires Mac OS X 10.1 or higher, a set of labels for laser and inkjet printers, and the Pressit Applicator, a device used to actually apply the printed labels onto a blank recordable disc.
The starter kit sold by MacPlay includes a variety of different label sheets, including inserts for CD jewel cases, labels for CDs in various finishes and for either inkjet or laser printers, and some labels in different colors as well. The kit also flyers for refills available from the Pressit Web site itself.
Regularly priced at US$29.99, MacPlay has a promotion to sell Pressit for $24.99 through Saturday. Visit the Web site for details.
