Prosoft Engineering Inc. has released updated versions of its Data Rescue products for Mac OS X and “Classic” Mac OS. Data Rescue is a data recovery utility that focuses on data recovery, not drive repair.

The new versions — Data Rescue X 10.2 and Data Rescue Classic 4.2 — feature enhanced algorithms that significantly improve data recovery performance, according to Prosoft. They also feature a new user interface with resizable windows and improved search abilities, along with better integration into Prosoft’s other products.
Prosoft is also now offering Data Rescue X on a bootable CD-ROM containing Mac OS X 10.2.3. Data Rescue Classic ships on a bootable Mac OS 9.2.2 CD-ROM.
Data Rescue is available for purchase from Prosoft’s Web site for US$89.
