Thinkertons.com has updated Jotz notepad for Mac OS X to version 1.2.5. The update provides a new print mode, “Print With Preview,” in which a “live” preview of the print job is displayed in a sheet, with buttons and sliders providing control over print scaling, margins, and alignment.
Jotz is a “smart” multimedia notepad. It offers automatic import of Classic Note Pads; automatic note titling; a “Shuffle Drawer” for note reorganization; and a multilevel, multi-pad search.
In the new version, margins can be adjusted from zero to three inches on each edge. Setting the margins to zero allows the production of full-bleed PDF files via Print To Preview. Scaling can be adjusted from approximately 13-400 percent, and the page image can be aligned to the left edge, the top edge, both or centered. Additionally, there’s a button to select between “fit to page” mode and “span pages” mode. Option-clicking a margin button “hops” it to the printer-dependent max-printable “hard” margin. Print Preview is a Mac OS X 10.2 (“Jaguar”) and later feature.
Jotz 1.2.5 also provides the ability to replace the Jotz Folder with an alias to a folder elsewhere. This remote folder can be anywhere that the user has write privileges. Jotz 1.2.5 is free for registered users of version 1.x; for others, the cost is $17.50.
