SimCity 4 is the latest generation of Maxis’ legendary strategy game, in which you plan every detail of the development of a major metropolis. The new version now allows you to sculpt the terrain upon which you’ll build your city, creating mountains, valleys, forests and rivers.
You can also track the lives of individual “Sims” — the denizens of the tiny city — and watch their daily routine to get a better understanding of what works and what doesn’t in the place you’ve created. What’s more, you can also now create a multi-city game in which different municipalities are connected by transportation networks, share and compete for resources.
Preliminary system requirements call for Mac OS X v10.2 or later, G3/500MHz or faster, 256MB RAM, 1GB hard disk space, and ATI Radeon or Nvidia GeForce2 MX graphics card with 32MB VRAM or better.
Currently in Alpha, SimCity 4 is expected to be released in May. For more details, screenshots, or to pre-order the game directly from Aspyr’s e-store, visit the Web site.
