Griffin Technology Inc. has released two new accessories for users of Power Mac G4s and Apple Cinema and Studio Displays that use the Apple Display Connector, or ADC. The company is now shipping the 10 Foot ADC Extension Cable and the ADC-to-VGA Adapter.

ADC is Apple’s method for connecting its line of digital flat panel displays. The unusual connector combines a digital video signal, USB and power all on one interface, helping to reduce desktop clutter.
The cable on Apple’s ADC monitors is about six feet long, which is fine for most desktops, but not optimal for studios, AV editing suites or other locations where it may be necessary to get the display a bit farther from the computer than Apple’s cable allows. The US$59 10 Foot ADC Extension Cable helps Power Macs get a little farther away — a total of 16 feet in all.
The ADC to VGA Adapter, meanwhile, enables users of ADC equipped Power Mac G4s to connect directly to displays that use VGA displays. VGA, the older analog method for connecting monitors to computers, is ubiquitous among inexpensive CRT and value-priced flat-panel displays. The ADC-to-VGA Adapter costs $29.99.
Both products are available from Griffin’s e-store and its retailers. Check Griffin’s Monitor Adapters Web page for further details.
