Designed for Mac OS X, 4D Mail features built-in anti-spam, antivirus, Webmail and more. It’s built on a SMTP/POP/IMAP mail server with secure remote administration, advanced relay blocking, and allow/deny. Version 5.2.4 sports an updated 4D WebMail Pro (for handling mail on the road or from a home office), new administrative options, and more.
New administrative options include per-user storage limits with customizable warning messages. The update also offers reliability improvements such as updated compatibility with mail clients and enhanced DNS handling to better manage processing of relayed messages, according to Brendan Coveney, president and CEO of 4D Inc.
The included 4D WebMail Pro application now has tighter integration with the 4D Mail SMTP and Mailbox servers, improved attachment handling and greater reliability in managing e-mail via most modern Web browsers, he added. 4D WebMail Pro end-users can now import and search address book files, plus thread-connect e-mail with a new “threaded” filter for more user flexibility with e-mail lists. What’s more, 4D WebMail Pro administrators can now import 4D Mail users as IMAP accounts. User interface enhancements in version 5.2.4 include improvements to international character and time display, status window display, failed message error reporting, and sounds.
The new 4D Mail v5.2.4 is free for all registered users of 4D Mail for Mac OS X. For others, the cost is US$149 for a 10-mailbox license and $249 for a 100-mailbox license; 100-mailbox expansion packs are $149 and an unlimited license is $1,499.
